A few friends and I are currently looking into options for a spring break trip to Europe, but we're a bit overwhelmed by the choices. We are students, so we definitely need to keep things budget-friendly while still having a good time and seeing some cool sights. We were considering places like Prague or Budapest, but we aren't sure if those are the best spots for nightlife and social vibes during the spring. Does anyone have experience visiting these cities in March or April? Any other recommendations for affordable destinations that are student-friendly would be greatly appreciated.

Prague and Budapest are definitely your best bets for a budget trip. They are incredibly cheap compared to Western Europe and the nightlife is legendary.

I second Budapest! The ruin bars are an absolute must-visit for students.

Don't sleep on Krakow, Poland. It's even cheaper than Prague and has a massive student population, so the vibes are always great.

Krakow is amazing, but is it warm enough in March? I'm worried about the weather.

Honestly, Europe in March is a bit of a gamble weather-wise anywhere north of the Mediterranean. Bring layers!

If you want warmer weather, look into Lisbon or Porto. Portugal is very affordable and the social scene is top-tier.

Lisbon is great, but it's getting more expensive lately. Still cheaper than London or Paris though!

I'd skip the big tourist hubs and look at Sofia, Bulgaria. You can live like a king on a student budget there.

Is Sofia safe for a group of students? I haven't heard much about it.

Sofia is totally safe, just stick to the main areas like any other city. The nightlife is wild and very cheap.

Whatever you do, book your flights and hostels as early as possible. Prices spike right before spring break.

Great advice. Use sites like Hostelworld and look for places with common rooms to meet other travelers.

What about Berlin? It's iconic for nightlife, though maybe a bit pricier than the others mentioned.

Berlin is expensive for food and drinks compared to Budapest, but it's worth it if you're into techno and clubbing.

You guys should check out Belgrade in Serbia. It's a hidden gem and definitely the cheapest out of all these options.

Belgrade is underrated! The river clubs are insane in the spring.
