My partner and I are heading to the Mediterranean this summer, and I'm planning to propose while we're there. I really want to find a spot that has a breathtaking sunset view but isn't completely overrun by massive crowds. We'll be traveling through Greece and Italy, so I'm open to suggestions in either country. Does anyone have a hidden gem or a specific terrace that offers a really romantic atmosphere? I'm hoping for something a bit more intimate than the usual tourist traps in Oia.

Skip Oia, it's a nightmare for a proposal. Try the village of Pyrgos on Santorini instead; it’s higher up, way quieter, and the views are just as incredible.

I second the Pyrgos recommendation. I proposed at a small winery there last year and it was perfect, no crowds at all.

If you're heading to Italy, look into Procida. It’s colorful, authentic, and lacks the insane tourist crush you get in Positano. Very romantic vibes.

That's a great suggestion! Is it easy to get to from Naples?

Honestly, just rent a private boat for a couple of hours in the Amalfi Coast. You get the sunset and the privacy without worrying about people watching you.

That's expensive, but probably worth it for a proposal. Good idea.

Check out Milos in Greece. It’s way more laid back than Santorini and the sunset at Klima is absolutely magical.

Klima is stunning, but watch out for the sea spray on your clothes if it's windy!

Whatever you choose, just make sure you scout the location a day early. You don't want to get lost while you're holding a ring.

I proposed in Puglia, Italy, at a masseria overlooking the olive groves. The sunset turned the whole sky purple. Definitely look into that area.
