I'm heading to Barcelona for a week this summer and I'm a huge fan of Antoni Gaudí's work. I definitely have tickets for the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, but I'm wondering if there are any lesser-known buildings or hidden gems I should prioritize. Is it worth visiting the smaller houses like Casa Vicens, or should I stick to the main ones on Passeig de Gràcia? Also, any tips on the best times to visit to avoid the absolute worst of the crowds would be greatly appreciated.

Casa Vicens is absolutely worth it, it's actually my favorite because it's less crowded than the ones on Passeig de Gràcia.

I agree with the person above. Casa Vicens was recently renovated and feels much more intimate than Casa Batlló.

If you want to avoid crowds, go as early as possible. Like, be at the gate when they open. It makes a huge difference.

Don't forget to look at the lampposts in Plaça Reial, they are his early work and people always walk right past them!

Wait, are the lampposts really Gaudí? I thought that was a myth.

Yes, they are his first commission for the city, definitely check them out.

I personally think Casa Milà is overrated compared to the others, but the roof is pretty cool for photos.

I disagree! The chimneys on the roof of Casa Milà are iconic, you can't skip that.

Have you looked into the Crypt of Colònia Güell? It's a bit outside the city center but totally worth the trip for a Gaudí superfan.

Seconding the Crypt! It's much quieter and you get to see his experimental techniques up close.

Honestly, just pick two big ones and spend the rest of the time wandering the Gothic Quarter. You'll burn out if you only do Gaudí buildings all week.

That's good advice, I felt so overwhelmed after my third day of architecture tours.

Try to visit the Sagrada Família for the evening light. The way the stained glass hits the nave is insane.

Make sure to book your tickets weeks in advance. If you wait until you arrive, you might not get in at all.

Is it true that you have to pay for the park area in Park Güell now? I heard it wasn't free anymore.

Yeah, it's been a paid attraction for years now. Definitely book ahead online.

Check out Bellesguard if you want something really hidden. Most tourists don't even know it exists.

Barcelona in the summer is brutal with the heat. Plan your walking tours for the early morning and hide in a museum during the afternoon.
